Hello, my name is Daria. I graduated the Arts University Bournemouth in 2019 with a BA(Hons) in Textile Design, and shortly after began working in fashion.

I, like most of us, had to step away from my day to day life due to the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 which gave me the time (way too much time) to read books and go down into obsessive internet rabbit holes of research. I decided to start this blog as I became increasingly aware of the impacts fashion has on the environment and on the people who are a part of the fashion process; from cotton growing to design to sewing, right up until the clothes are purchased.
I aim to use this platform as a way of collating all my research and thoughts on prevalent issues within the fashion industry, such as sweatshops and modern-day slavery, but also to highlight all the wonderful and positive things which many fashion brands are doing to future-proof themselves against the tidal wave of change. I wish to do this to help keep myself accountable and educated on this topic, and to hopefully spread some of the knowledge I come across to people who wish to find out more about where their clothes come from.
As I commit myself to writing this blog, I hope to venture out into topics and industries outside of fashion in the future, such as sustainable farming and environmental travel to name a couple. In addition, as I test things out for myself, I wish to share first-hand experiences and advice on the small things we can all do to future-proof ourselves and the world we live in.
I strongly believe the small actions of an individual can make a significant difference.
We can’t all do everything, and trying to figure our what is right and what is wrong can be overwhelming. However, I believe that by focusing on the actions that we can personally take to create a world which is a little more eco-friendly, a little more ethical, a little more kind, we can begin to make subtle shifts in the right direction.
I hope you enjoy this content, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any feedback you may have.
Have a beautiful day.
Love, Daria xx
